Our UK Deer

Deer are some the largest wild mammals in the UK. The deer habitat in the UK is expanding due to re-forrestation. The deer population has grown at an estimated count to somewhere between 1.5 and 2 million, and they are spreading over a steadily wider area, particularly the Muntjac, of which we are seeing a steady rise in the south of the country. Still often difficult to find as they prefer deep cover, unlike the other species we have in the south of the country: Fallow and Roe deer.
